What is poaching? Poaching is illegally killing animals, or plants often for special parts of the body. People will kill the animals for the parts they want and leave the rest. This is one reason why animals are becoming extinct. Some ways how poaching is illegal is that the poacher does not own the land they are on and kill an animal on it without permission. Now there are many more ways to tell if your illegally poaching. Sometimes people poach for game, or money, but it is all one thing not right.
Why do people poach? Well some people poach because they believe certain parts of animals can cure different things. For tigers their eyes, bones, teeth, claws, whiskers, tails, skins, paw soles, forehead, eyebrows, fat, flesh, and milk. Some people do it as a sporting activity. Some for hunting, food, and have souvenir. Others poach for the animal value, for thrill, and power.
What are these tiger parts used for? Their teeth, and claws are used for jewelry, and good luck. The whiskers, tails, skins, paw soles, forehead, eyebrows, and fat are all used for magical purposes. While the bones, flesh, and milk are used for traditional medicine. The flesh is also for crop protection. Sometimes people only take some of the parts and just leave the rest.
